I took this Sunrise photo in my backyard. My sunrise photo resembles joy because sunrise symbolizes birth, growth, new beginnings of all kinds, and resurrection. Witnessing a sunrise can have a profound effect on our well-being. It boosts our mood, leaving us feeling energized and ready to face the day ahead. In other words, every time someone sees a sunrise it makes them feel joy. This sunrise is what really brings me joy from where I live.

This photo was taken at a very old grave yard. Since 2020 Covid-19 started and from now lots of family lost a least a family member. Until this year we still honored our family member who passed away. At times, it maybe hard and sad, but our family members who pass away would like to see us happy. If you ever go to a grave yard don't feel bad, look around and think to yourself that all the people who made a difference in the world.

This photo was taken at the beach. It was my friend's birthday and we all went to the beach to hangout and watch the sunset. I think this photo captures that night well, and represents my vision and definition of joy. When looking at this photo, I think about the importance of having good relationships with others, and how good connections can bring tranquility and brightness to a life.

Coming home from a long day of school would leave any kid mentally drained. As I walk through my front my gate into my home I hear the sweet screams of laughter from my nephew. This new addition to the family I never knew I needed. His smiles and screams of joy leave me with a heart full of love. In his smile I see the pure light of innocence shine through him. With just one simple smile he seems to cure the draining day I had. When I see him I see my light. He is my sunshine on the cloudiest days, and my laughter that picks me up when life gets too heavy. A pure joyful form of life I hope I can forever hold and protect.

As a kid, my daughter participated in different sports, but she was never really competitive. So I was shocked when at 30 years old, (and already a mom herself) she competed in her first Jiu Jitsu competition. She won the early matches without a hitch. In the final match, she spent the first 4:30 of a 5 min match on her back. With almost no time left she turned the tables and won with a bow and arrow choke (her favorite submission hold). When she got up, I couldn’t tell if she was in pain or if it was tears of joy. It was joy.

This photo was taken at Newport Beach and relates to joy because it expresses how joy can be found even on a gloomy day. It sends the message that we can find joy from the way we view the world and the things we allow ourselves to notice and appreciate. Although it was a gloomy and cloudy day at the beach, there was still much to appreciate about the opportunities that come with just being at the beach. The lifeguard station represents the simplicity of life and how if you choose to look at life through a certain lens, it can be much more easy on you than you may think.
