There is nothing like the pure joy of spending an afternoon at Knott's Berry Farm and it suddenly begins to snow. The idea of snow transcends time and age to create joy.

This photo brings Joy to me. Walking along the forest with an open colorful sky, as the sun sets in the far distance. With Venus beside the Moon. We can imagine and dream what it's like looking back from one of those cosmic bodies. Peace, peace can be found anywhere and in anything. For me it's photography. The love and meaning behind what comes to me and to be able to capture the moment is a feeling like no other.

I found this photo to be really heartwarming because it captures the love between my brother and sister. It was taken in my backyard on the grassy area, where they were playing together. My photograph relates to the theme of "Joy" because both my brother and sister are smiling, radiating happiness and a strong sibling bond. This image is a perfect example of joy, showing the simple yet meaningful moments shared between family. One challenge while capturing this photo was getting my brother to hold my sister on his back and convincing them both to smile at the same time. Another important detail is that the kids in the picture are my siblings, making this moment even more special to me.

This specific picture was taken at my high school as a challenge and with I wanted to take a stop action picture of bubbles. Bubbles relate to joy as a playful way. When we play with bubbles we take it lightly like how joy is felt. As bubbles float around, so does happiness and shared memories with loved ones that bring joy to use everyday.

My photo was taken at a lake. During school, I don't have much free time to spend with my mom, sister, and brother. So, Winter break was the best opportunity to hang out with my family. We decided to walk to the lake which was only two streets away from our house, but for toddlers it's a long walk. I find joy in doing things with my siblings. It's a simple walk that I hope will hold good memories for all of us in the future.
Honorable Mention
The photo of my dog Logan perched on the armrest of my couch. My little dog brings me joy whenever I see or think of him, no matter the situation. I'm thankful we took him in that day from the shelter.

This photo was taken in a beautiful flower field, filled with bright yellow blossoms that create a warm and joyful atmosphere. The image perfectly reflects the theme of "Joy" by capturing genuine smiles and a strong, loving relationship. The happiness shared between the two individuals highlights the deep connection, laughter, and love that bring joy to life. Some facts the judges should know about this photo: My big brother played a huge role in this photo, as I used his camera and gear to capture the moment. My models contributed to the idea and helped bring the picture to life, making it even more stunning. I work with my brother, who is a professional photographer, and I’ve learned a lot from his experience in making a successful career out of photography.

Lucy is my outdoor cat. When our neighbor moved away, she asked my mom if she could start feeding the outdoor cat. Mom said, '"No." Lucy showed up on our doorstep, anyway. "Hey, I thought this is where the food would be." It was hard to say "no" after that. That is how I got my cat. She is so cute!

This photograph was taken of the majestic Sierra Nevadas. This mountain range is unique due to a number of reasons. The jagged peaks and sharp ridges show how it was carved by glaciers. It has the tallest peak in the 48 states, Mount Whitney. The range is home to the largest tree on earth, the General Sherman Tree. There are a total of five national parks found in this mountain range. I love living in a place where I see the beauty of the Sierra Nevadas on a daily basis. The beauty and majesty of these mountains bring me great joy.

This photo is of a sunset taken while standing on Kihei beach, Maui, Hawaii. My photo relates to this year's theme, joy, because those were my feelings when I took the photo. Growing up in California, I have seen many sunsets, but this Hawaiian sunset was the most beautiful I have ever seen. The colors were so bright and beautiful, and the setting, standing on the beach listening to the waves crashing on the sand while reggae music played in the background, brought me joy. This photo marked the end of a beautiful day for my family and me.

This picture is a photo I took of my mom on a trip to New York City. We went to the Bronx Botanical Gardens together, and they had a holiday train show set up. I had been wanting to go to New York City for Christmas for years, and I was so excited to have been there. Not only did the trip itself bring me joy, but so did the fact that my mom was happy and enjoying her time. She doesn't love to travel like I do, but when we travel together, she always feels happier, bringing me joy. My mama is the source of joy in my life and seeing her happy in one of my favorite cities is the best feeling.

This photo was taken at Big Sur California at Mcway Falls. It relates to the contest because it depicts a place where the land meets the open sea, portraying the idea of freedom or liberation, which is what my idea of joy is - the concept of unburdened happiness. Often we take for granted our freedom, and we are reminded of the inherent beauty of this freedom, only once it has been taken away whether physically or mentally. This photo was one of my favorite times being in nature and away from my home and I wouldn't trade my experiences there for anything.

My bunny makes me happy. She makes me happy by her cute face. She is cute, old, happy and fluffy. When I am alone or crying, I need her. Me and my bunny, named Rose, are going to have a blast!

This is a picture of me and two Monarch butterflies on our back patio. Every year, we take care of many butterflies from March to October, and it is fun! This picture brings me joy because the life cycle from an egg to a caterpillar to a chrysalis to a butterfly has been successful. Another reason that this brings me joy is because the colors are pretty nice. In 2020, we started to raise Monarch butterflies, and we were happy when one butterfly came out. Now, it has been 5 years, and we have released many Monarchs.
