The power of 70,000 pounds of thrust coming from the engine rattles you right to the bone. You can really feel the power of these engineering marvels.

These flares are used against infrared-guided weapons or in short-term heat-seeking. From the Wright Flyer to this is a pretty big leap. The Wright Flyer went at a speed of 24 mph.
